Steve you may not want what you wish.. Having State licenses you still have to deal with each County and city. it seems more nd more they are all requesting different information.

Steve says:

In regards to contractor licensing, lets take a look at the multitude of subcontractor licenses that are now required on the county level. In order to work in a different county, the sub must have their license transferred and issued by that new county. The cost and aggravation of transferring the license and getting a county tax receipt for each county is ridiculous! Lets just establish a statewide license for these tradesmen and be done with it!

those of you whom had sucess with curtis lunderman and kenneth forbes dba teamlunderman construction. you got lucky with these two because now things have gone south. go to the state dbpr.and research public records of all the complaints and the licensed has been revoked permanantly and fines and a very pricey restitution of cost and several complaints that has not been addressed as of yet. now after you take another look. tell me what ya think ????
like i said you got lucky....

Bob Springer says:

I hired Curtis Lunderman and Ken Forbes to build a new home for me and they both exceeded my expectations. They are licensed and insured and both are proffessional individuals. I did a extensive back ground chech myself and found no record of a felony or any warrants. In fact they saved me over 35K on my New Home and finished the job within budget and 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend them and would hire them again in a second.

Brian Weaver comment on safety
I sir am OSHA certified and I have always pratices safety before profit, and I'm concern of your off color comments about unsafe activities on my website. I have set on the State of Florida's safety review committee, I have a training and 30 hour certification from OSHA. and I would appreiated where safety is being violated on my website.

September 24th, 2009 at 11:47 AM

Brian Weaver says:

I can certainly understand your frustrations. However, Another huge concern is the obvious disregard for safety your are displaying on your website. As a construction professional the safety of your crews and subs should be a top priority but as witnessed on your website it does not appear to be of any concern. If you dont think CFR 1926 does not apply to residential construction then you owe it to your employees and subs to educate yourself on how to perform the tasks safely and still make a profit. One willful violation can cost you everything. I am not OSHA and I am not trying to bash you Sir but it angers me when a contractor puts people at risk when its not necessary. This profession is dangerous enough.

Dan Palmer says:

I work for a Florida Building department and asked the Chief Plumbing Inspector in writing to report an unlicensed plumbing contractor I observed installing water meters in a mobile home park. He refused in writing and stated the unlicensed contractor was having a licensed plumbing purchase the permit and it was not necessary to report the unlicensed activity.Does anyone know how to take legal DBPR or CILB action against the Chief Inspector.
Thanks for any help
